Ubiquitous Computing

Building Intelligent Rooms as a research test bed to develop and test various Ubiquitous Computing technologies and applications, has been and remain as an active area of research. C-DAC has been working in the development of context aware framework for Ubiquitous Computing. Intelligent Room applications such as Illumination control, Interactive mirror, smart kitchen cabinet and smart bed uses the context derived from the sensors and the activity of the inhabitants in the home. The control action of the devices is also adapted suitably to the individual profile of the inhabitants.

Objectives:

• Reduce energy consumption by Illumination control and other intelligent applications.
• Minimize cost of living by effective inventory management at kitchen and reduction of energy bill.
• Maximize comfort to the inhabitants of the home through embedding intelligence in the devices used at home such as smart bed and Interactive mirror.
